Our Ocean Star classes offer an exceptional learning experience. Even though this is an offshore rig, we do not emphasize offshore operations more than the normal amount in our Houston classes will gain a great deal of knowledge of typical operations that can be applied to their job functions regardless if the main focus is on concern offshore or not.
Please let us know if you are interested in attending a future class or if you would like us to arrange a special in-house course for you on this excellent facility. This is the perfect facility for you, especially if you have never been on an actual drilling rig.

The Shortest Distance From The Training Room To The Rig
This jackup rig, which drilled over 200 offshore wells before being converted into a permanent offshore museum, still has all its drilling equipment on board. In addition, three of the crew decks have been turned into a museum with numerous exhibits, displays, video kiosks, a theater and a modern training room. Also, you might catch a glimpse of a cruise ship, offshore rigs in repair and dolphins in the bay.
A continental breakfast and refreshment breaks will be offered each day. In addition, each class will have the opportunity to tour the rig and its museum facilities.

Galveston & Ocean Star
The Ocean Star Offshore Museum is located in Galveston Bay in the popular Strand Historic District.
Galveston Island, a resort destination in its own right, boasts numerous hotels, beaches, restaurants
and attractions. Galveston is located about 50 miles south of Houston on I-45. You can learn more
We recommend three hotels: The Hotel Galvez, The Fremont & The Harbor House.
The Hotel Galvez, a Wyndam hotel, is a completely renovated historic hotel on the beach. Many celebrities, such as Garth Brooks, have discovered this jewel on the beach. It is a only short drive to Ocean Star.
The Tremont, also a Wyndam hotel, located in the historic Strand District, a few short blocks from Ocean Star, is an elegant historic hotel renovated to maintain its older charm while adding a modern flare. It is very close to numerous restaurants and attractions in the District.
The Harbor House, located just steps away from Ocean Star affords a more rustic, yet very comfortable place to stay. It is also very close to numerous restaurants and attractions in the Strand District. This hotel offers a daily continental breakfast but no room service, etc. You can, if you like, sail your boat into one of its slips while you stay.
All three of these hotels are under the same ownership so you will have signing, pool privileges, etc.
