This jackup rig, which drilled over 200 offshore wells before being converted into a permanent offshore museum, still has all its drilling equipment on board. Both of our courses, The Petroleum Industry and Petroleum Reserves & Economic Fundamentals have been taught in 1-1/2 day formats during these special Ocean Star sessions. Our new class, Petroleum Engineering for the Non-Engineering Professional, will be presented in a 2 day format. All of our courses can be taught here on an in-house basis. Subjects can be "mixed and matched" to fit your requirements.
A continental breakfast and refreshment breaks will be offered each day. In addition, each class will have the opportunity to tour the rig and its museum facilities.

The Ocean Star Offshore Museum is located in Galveston Bay in the popular Strand Historic District.
Galveston Island, a resort destination in its own right, boasts numerous hotels, beaches, restaurants

We recommend three hotels: The Hotel Galvez, The Fremont & The Harbor House.
The Hotel Galvez, a Wyndam hotel, is a completely renovated historic hotel on the beach. Many celebrities, such as Garth Brooks, have discovered this jewel on the beach. It is a only short drive to Ocean Star.
The Tremont, also a Wyndam hotel, located in the historic Strand District, a few short blocks from Ocean Star, is an elegant historic hotel renovated to maintain its older charm while adding a modern flare. It is very close to numerous restaurants and attractions in the District.
The Harbor House, located just steps away from Ocean Star affords a more rustic, yet very comfortable place to stay. It is also very close to numerous restaurants and attractions in the Strand District. This hotel offers a daily continental breakfast but no room service, etc. You can, if you like, sail your boat into one of its slips while you stay.
All three of these hotels are under the same ownership so you will have signing, pool privileges, etc.
